Meet the Team
Ed Hopper - CEO
Ed Hopper grew up a proud “Navy Brat,” traveling the world and gaining a perspective that continues to shape how he approaches both life and business. Ed and his family have called Virginia Beach home for more than 40 years.
Ed is the CEO of MEP Payments. In January 2018, he led the company in a new direction—building a business model centered on impact as well as performance. Through MEP, a meaningful portion of company profits supports a wide range of charitable organizations focused on community, service, and helping those in need. As Ed puts it, “We can usually help merchants save money while supporting great causes at the same time. It really is a win-win.”
Outside of work, Ed spends his summers serving as a Supervisor for the Virginia Beach Lifesaving Service and is a former member of the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad. He also sits on the executive board for the Virginia Beach Surf & Rescue Museum.
Stacy Rogers - Partner Specialist
Stacy plays a key role in supporting MEP Payments' partner relationships, working closely with referral partners, associations, and community organizations. She enjoys staying active, networking, and helping plan events that bring people together and build genuine connections. Through her work, Stacy helps partners better understand Altor’s payment solutions, AVVANCE financing, and Altor Gives Back—ensuring every relationship feels supported, purposeful, and aligned with MEP Payments' mission of transparency, service, and giving back.
Larry McKenzie - Installation Team Lead
Larry was born in Ohio, and relocated to Virginia in 2006 when he joined the Navy. He remained in Virginia to start his family and continue his career as an IT specialist. Larry now considers himself a local and loves the coastal lifestyle. He is excited for the opportunity to work with MEP Payments as the Lead of the Installation Team.
Alex Hopper - Content and Marketing
Alex is a creative professional with a passion for digital marketing and storytelling. He specializes in video production, commercial photography and drone imaging. He spends his free time at the gym, surfing, snowboarding, reading or hiking.
